Control?

Photographers like control.   We try to control the light in a studio, we control shutter speed and depth of field with our apertures.   We try for the finest focus in the exact point in space to best capture the image we want.  Our subjects are either static or models directed.  If the subject won’t be still for us we freeze them in frame with a high shutter speed, or we choose to let them blur, our choice, our control.  So what happens when the control isn’t there?  What if the photographer’s work is not seen, not understood, or mis-understood?  What happens when a photo is handed over to a gallery to hang as they will?  Will it be lighted properly, hung at a good height, straight?  It takes some getting used to, this loss of control.
